Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Galaxy A70 Still Receiving Software Updates?

I know you are arching for a YES, but the Galaxy A70 wasn’t among the devices Samsung announced in February 2022 to be eligible for four years of Android updates.

The Galaxy A70 debuted in 2019 with Android 9.0 Pie (One UI 1.1) right out of the box but has its last update in March 2021 to the recent Android 11 OS (One UI 3.1.1). And that was the phone’s last OS update.

Where Can I Purchase The Galaxy A70?

Forwarding to this day, the Galaxy A70 is nearly out of the market due to the rise of other recent A series. The fairly-used can still be lurking around for a cheaper fee.

But I wonder if you’ll be able to get your hands on a brand-new model.

Still, there is only one better place to find the Galaxy A70 than an authorized Samsung store or other retailers, mobile carriers, or online marketplaces.

Is The Galaxy A70 Suitable For Gaming And Multimedia?

With a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 6 GB to 8 GB of RAM, 128GB of ROM, 1080 x 2400 pixels, and 393PPI resolution, the A 70 looks promising to give the best gaming and multimedia experience.

Unfortunately, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor limits it to light to moderate gaming.

This mid-range processor can’t handle heavy gaming, although you can play games like Call Of Duty and PUBG, not just in the highest graphical settings.

Is The Galaxy A70 Water-Resistant?

No, it doesn’t. The Samsung Galaxy a70 doesn’t have an IP68 rating for Dust and water resistance, but it can take up a few splashes.

However, dipping it in a pool of water will send the phone to its ancestors.

If you want a waterproof A Series, look no further than the Galaxy A72, 73, 52, 53, 54, Galaxy A33, and the A34 smartphones. These A series can endure being submerged up to 1m underwater for 30 minutes.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A70 is a decent phone. The specification stats above prove my point even further.

However, with the limited availability and no chance of getting a new Software update, one must think twice.

Yes, it is affordable compared to its predecessors and not miles behind. But the Samsung Galaxy A70 feels old —even if it can still do the job.

I will let you decide on this one.
